My father painted this portrait of my mother when they had recently met. He studied art at Reading University, and then taught art and English in schools. A very private person, he has never been interested exhibiting or promoting himself as artist. I believe his paintings are exceptionally skillful, and this portrait is a superb example of his rare mastery of colour and light.
