Pencil portrait artist Anna Shipstone carefully blends and builds the colours in her pet portraits - the result glows with colour, bringing your pet to life.

To discuss your pet portrait, simply Email your favourite photos. The artist will edit your pictures if necessary, and email suggested compositions back to you. No deposit is required.

Paying For Pet Portraits

Payment is not required until you have approved your pet portrait online.

Paypal, cheque, postal order, bank transfer or cash deposit are all accepted.

Please understand that pet portraits cannot be dispatched until payment has cleared.

Sending Pet Photographs

Please realise that the quality of your pet portrait depends on the photos.

Photos should be emailed by clicking "insert" followed by "file attachment."

Digital pet photos can also be posted on a disc.

Multiple photos can usually be combined into one pet portrait.

Pet photos will not be displayed without permission.

Taking Pet Photographs

To bring out the best in your pet, a photo outside in natural light is preferable.

For the best portrait, look across as your pet rather than down when you take your photo.

An attractive background is nice, although this can always be improvised into the final pet portrait.

Red-eye, poor contrast etc. can be rectified by the artist.

1. What's your turnover time?

Ans: Estimated delivery date for newly ordered pet portraits is September 2010 (Updated Feb. 2nd. '10)

2. How much do your pet portraits cost to commission?

Ans: The price table can be found here. It lists sizes of pet portrait, and the two media of pencil and coloured pencil.

3. Which photos do I send and how?

Ans: Details about sending and taking pet photos can be found here.

4. How can I be sure my portrait won't get damaged?

Ans: All pet portraits are packed very securely and insured.

5. What about payment?

Ans: Payment is not required until you have approved your pet portrait via email. Ways you can pay are listed here.

6. How do you draw your pet portraits?

Ans: The pet portraits tutorial has information about techiques, plus photos of pet portraits in progress.

7. Can I choose the kind of paper you draw my pet portrait on?

Ans: Because of the methods art materials used, I use the smooth paper for pencil and a textured paper for coloured portraits.

8. Will my pet portrait be shown on your website?

Ans: New pet portraits may be featured: please inform me if you do not wish this.

9. I ordered a pet portrait, but I need to cancel. Is this okay?

Ans: Orders for pet portraits may be cancelled at any time.

10. What if I don't like my pet portrait?

Ans: Any dissatisfied client will be refunded on receipt of artwork returned within 14 days, including the postage for returning it. Returns Policy.

11. Do you frame your pet portraits?

Ans: Although I don't offer framing, I have compiled advice on framing pencil and coloured pencil pet portraits here.
